Dr. Marc Nivet

In his role as chief diversity officer at the Association of American Medical Colleges, Dr. Marc Nivet, provides strategic vision for all AAMC diversity and inclusion activities through his leadership of the association’s Diversity Policy and Programs department, which focuses on initiatives designed to increase diversity in medical education and advance health care equity.

Dr. Nivet served previously as chief operating officer at the Josiah Macy, Jr. Foundation, where he oversaw the day-to-day operations of the foundation, and as special assistant to the senior vice president of health at New York University. Dr. Nivet was also president of the National Association of Medical Minority Educators, Inc. and adjunct professor in the School of Education, Health, and Human Services of Hofstra University.

Dr. Nivet holds an Ed.D. degree in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education and an M.S. degree in higher education and student development from Long Island University.
