This is your formal invitation to serve as a MENTOR in the 2017-2018 school year. We will convene for orientation Saturday, September 9, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m at Billy Webb Elks Lodge at 6 N. Tillamook St.
It is fun and rewarding! Mentors have said that they “most enjoyed” being in the company of other Black men in a shared experience and, the natural learning that occurs with this effort.
Saturday, September 9, is your opportunity to renew your skills and become better acquainted with other men committed to this enterprise, review the expectations, and schedules and school profiles.
The attached “outline” attempts to provide enough information to get you started. The hour-long session will review the fundamentals of mentoring and our particular approach to support middle grade “Ambassadors” at Ockley Green and at Boise Eliot Humboldt.
Thank you for considering the role you can play. There is considerable flexibility in serving as a mentor at one school, at both schools, or as a scheduled guest speaker.
A very rewarding experience is waiting for you.
