Here’s an opportunity to test the water, if you’ve ever thought about mentoring. By responding, you have a chance to influence a student for the rest of his life. All you have to do is show up; we will have at least one seasoned COBM leader onsite to provide necessary instructions. By stepping up in this moment, you have the chance to help keep our legacy standing uninterrupted. OR, you can just drop-in for a 20 minute “rap session”, share your story and respond to students questions… We want to keep this flexible so you will get involved!
WE NEED INDIVIDUALS AT OUR TWO LOCATIONS AND TIMES:
Ockley Green Middle School 6031 N Montana Ave, Portland, OR 97217 Tuesdays from 12pm to 2pm & Thursdays from 12pm to 2pm
| Boise Eliot Middle School 620 N Fremont St, Portland, OR 97227 Thursdays from 9am to 11am

- Mentoring is a proven strategy for positive youth development.
- Having a mentor can enhance a young person’s learning skills and help build resiliency and self-control.
- Youth with mentors are less likely to engage in risky behavior with drugs and alcohol.
